Dr. Ali Matini has been with Georgetown Optician Inc. since 1997 and practices in our Georgetown location. Aside from routine eye exams, Dr. Matini is skilled at diagnosing many ocular diseases including glaucoma, cataracts, macular degeneration, diabetes and hypertensive retinopathy. He routinely treats diseases of the anterior segment, which includes dry eyes, allergies, and various forms of infections. He also works with the top laser centers in the metropolitan area, performing pre and post-operative care for patients who seek laser eye surgery.

Dr. Matini graduated from the Illinois College of Optometry in 1995, earning his degree in Doctor of Optometry. During his residency, he concentrated on diseases of the posterior and anterior segment of the eye. He also earned a Bachelors Degree in Microbiology from the University of Maryland

As an active member of the community, Dr. Matini donates his services to the Whitman Walker Clinic, providing care to a number of HIV patients.

Dr. Matini is Board Certified in Maryland, Virginia, and Washington D.C. He offers a multi-disciplinary approach, characterized by a comprehensive system of care, which involves close coordination with his staff that is highly efficient and highly reassuring to his patients.
